Statement from Police Ombudsman

The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland, Mrs Nuala O’Loan, has announced today that she is investigating the issues raised of whether the police received prior warning of the Omagh bomb, and of whether any information received was appropriately dealt with.

Following consideration of this matter over the last three weeks the Police Ombudsman has informed the Secretary of State and the Chief Constable of her decision to investigate.
