Every person that makes a complaint to the Police Ombudsman is asked to complete an equality monitoring form. The questionnaire includes the categories of age, gender, marital status, employment status, sexual orientation, community background, race, country of birth, disability, dependants and political opinion. This Equality Monitoring Report presents the results from the questionnaires that were issued to complainants for complaints received during 2025/26.
This report presents the findings from the Police Officer Satisfaction Survey and includes information collected from police officers who were subject of an investigation which was subsequently closed during 2025/26 and compares the findings to results obtained for the previous years.
This statistical report presents the results from the 2025/26 ‘Complainant Satisfaction Survey’ carried out by the Police Ombudsman’s Office. The survey has been conducted in one form or another since 2001 and the results have been used by the Office to determine how complainants felt about the service they received and how they felt they were treated by the staff who dealt with their complaint.
The Annual Statistical Bulletin and accompanying spreadsheet presents information on complaints and allegations received by the Office of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland in 2025/26, as well as showing trend information for the last five years.
