Prior to becoming Police Ombudsman in July 2019, Mrs Anderson had served since 2016 as the Public Services Ombudsman for Northern Ireland. She also held during this time the statutory offices of Northern Ireland Local Government Commissioner for Standards and Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Ombudsman.

Hugh Hume, Chief Executive for the office of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland, has had a career spanning both policing and contemporary police oversight across four decades.
Paul Holmes commenced his career in 1982 as a Probationary Inspector with the Royal Hong Kong Police. During his fifteen years of service in Hong Kong he experienced a wide range of policing roles including eleven years in various aspects of criminal investigation.
Nikki Davis joined the Police Ombudsman’s Office as an Investigating Officer in 2007, having worked in a number of investigative roles abroad. Nikki was subsequently promoted to Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, then Senior Investigating Officer with responsibility for the investigation of significant investigations. In January 2024 she was appointed Director of Current Investigations, with oversight of all non-legacy Police Ombudsman investigations.
Paula Gillespie is the Director of HR and Corporate Services and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Paula previously worked for the Office as Senior HR Officer and then HR Manager from 2008 to 2019 before leaving to take up responsibility for HR, Finance and Communications with the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People (NICCY).
Louise McKenna is the temporary Director of Organisational Impact, Support and Standards, leading the development of a new Directorate in the Police Ombudsman’s Office with a specific focus on demonstrating the impact of our work on improving policing and building public confidence in policing.
