The Police Ombudsman’s Office is appealing for witnesses to an incident in the Dunvale area of Ballymena on Friday 14 October 2022.
 
The incident, involving police officers and a member of the public, took place at approximately 8.40pm, a short distance from the Spar and Connolly’s Off Sales. 
 
A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have observed a male member of the public and up to 6 police officers close to police vehicles, including a police cell van around this time. 
 
“Body Worn Video footage received from the PSNI shows there were a number of members of the public in the vicinity at the time who may have seen the interaction between police and this person. 
 
“We are particularly keen to speak with a female resident who was wearing a dark top and pink body warmer who was spoken to by police at the time, as well as anyone else who saw what happened or who may have recorded footage of the incident on their mobile phone.”
