Witness appeal - Belfast city centre

The Police Ombudsman's Office has issued an appeal for witnesses to an incident which took place in Belfast city centre last month.

At roughly 01:45am on Wednesday 9th December 2009 a verbal altercation between two males occurred outside the Thompson's Garage nightclub in Patterson's Place. The confrontation continued down the alleyway in the direction of the City Hall, at which point one of the males was physically assaulted.

A Police Ombudsman spokesman said: "We are looking to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward with any details they have. There were a number of taxi drivers in the area, as well as other passers-by who may have seen what happened. Their information may be extremely useful".
