19-year-old’s death: Police Ombudsman issues fresh appeal

Published Date: 25.06.2004

The Police Ombudsman’s Office has issued a fresh appeal for information about the death of 19-year-old Raymond Robinson at Whiteabbey in April this year.

Raymond died after becoming trapped under a police car in a stream known as the Three Mile Water, which runs through a wooded area known as The Glen.

It is understood the police car had previously followed a white Seat Toledo car which Mr Robinson had driven from the Carrickfergus area to the Glen.

The incident happened at around 1.15am on Saturday 24 April 2004.

The Police Ombudsman’s office would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened in the Glen area to contact them. Investigators would particularly like to hear from the driver of a dark-coloured taxi who may have seen the Toledo car in the area of the Fortfield Service Station in Carrickfergus.

The number to contact is 028 9082 8685.
