Director of Investigations John
Larkin began his policing career in Birmingham in 1981.
He is currently seconded from his home force of West Midlands,
where he holds the rank of Acting Chief Superintendent.
During his career he has held uniform and detective roles
at all ranks, and most recently served as Operations Manager
for Coventry (M1 Organisational Command Unit). He had
previously commanded CID investigations in Birmingham
and Coventry, where he served as a Murder Investigation
Senior Investigating Officer and Crime Manager respectively.
John has led a broad range of high-profile investigations,
including a number of murder enquiries, among them a
year-long investigation undertaken by a team of officers
from two forces.
John has a BA(Hons) from Birmingham University and
is married with two grown-up children.
